Maya provides tools intended to help renters manage rental searches and applications. This policy explains how Maya (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal information collected through rentwithmaya.com and related services.
Information we collect
We may collect:
- contact information you provide, including your email address;
- information you later provide to create a renter profile or use Maya’s services;
- technical and usage information, such as pages viewed, device and browser information, approximate location, referral source and interactions with our website; and
- advertising and conversion information collected through the Meta Pixel and similar technologies.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- manage the early-access list and send launch updates;
- provide, operate, secure and improve Maya;
- measure website usage and advertising performance;
- communicate with you and respond to enquiries; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
Meta Pixel and advertising
We use the Meta Pixel to record visits and actions such as joining the early-access list. Meta may receive information about your browser, device, website activity and interactions with our ads. Meta may use this information in accordance with its own privacy policy, including to provide measurement and advertising services. You can manage advertising preferences through your Meta account and may restrict cookies through your browser settings.
How we disclose information
We may disclose information to service providers that help us host, operate, analyse and promote Maya. These currently include Cloudflare, which hosts our website and signup database, and Meta, which provides advertising and measurement services. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business restructuring or transfer.
Overseas processing
Our service providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Privacy protections in those countries may differ from Australian law.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet service is completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
Access, correction and deletion
You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from launch communications, by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us with details of your complaint. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may be entitled to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Maya develops. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date.
